Reliable Safety and Lighting Control for Heavy-Duty Applications

The Pollak 21-456 Precision Ball Switch is a rugged, Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) Normally Closed (N.C.) component designed for precision sensing in commercial vehicles and industrial equipment. In this "Normally Closed" configuration, the electrical circuit remains active (On) until the precision ball is depressed, which breaks the circuit (Off).

Quick and Easy Blade Terminal Installation The 21-456 is equipped with standard .250" (1/4") blade terminals. This popular termination style allows for fast, tool-free installation using common female disconnect connectors. It is the ideal choice for fleet maintenance and custom builds where quick-connect wiring is preferred for ease of service.

Engineered for Durability Built to handle the vibration and environmental stress of a truck chassis, the 21-456 features a zinc-plated metal housing that provides excellent protection against corrosion and road debris. The internal snap-action mechanism is engineered for a high cycle life, ensuring consistent performance for safety-critical systems.

Key Features:

  • Normally Closed (N.C.) Function: Circuit remains closed until the ball is depressed.

  • .250 Blade Terminals: Fits standard 1/4" female quick-disconnect wiring terminals.

  • Corrosion-Resistant Housing: Zinc-plated steel construction for maximum longevity.

  • Precision Ball Actuator: Smooth, repeatable mechanical action for accurate switching.

  • Universal Voltage: Rated for 12V and 24V DC automotive and industrial systems.

Common Applications:

  • Storage & Compartment Lighting: Turns lights on automatically when a door or lid is opened.

  • Door-Ajar Indicators: Alerts the operator when a cab or trailer door is not fully latched.

  • Safety Interlock Systems: Prevents equipment operation until a mechanical component is in the correct position.

  • Emergency Brake Warning: Signals the status of mechanical levers or pedals.
